What can I say to that? I must say YES!
Alexander and I were picking up toys the other night in anticipation of his (and the twins’) first ever play-date with one of Alexander’s classmates and her sister (who is 10 days older than the twins). He was so excited, so he was a big help picking up and straightening his toys – he had a good incentive!
We were straightening his train track and adding trains when he said to me:
“Mommy, are you my best friend?”
“Yes, sweetie pie, I’m your best friend. Are you my best friend?”
“I’m your best friend mommy?”
“Yes, baby face, you’re my best friend.”
“Are you my best friend, Mommy?”
“I’m your best friend.”
Cherish these moments, for they are fleeting.
Ever had a 3 year old lay on your stomach while you got your eyebrows waxed at the salon? I have.
The last time at the Salon, I had my 3 boys with me. Luckily the twins were contained in their stroller. My 3 year old, on the other hand, couldn’t sit for more than 5-10 minutes on the sofa with his iPad. He had to find out what Mommy was doing.
First thing, I was lying on the reclining chair to get my eyebrows waxed when he came over, didn’t say anything, just indicated he wanted to get up. He climbed up on the chair, laid down on my stomach, elbows resting on my chest, chin in his hands, just watching. He never asked what was going on, he just studied the entire process.
That’s my boy!
